Avatar Problem

:unworthy: Congratulations, Grant and Terri ! You did it fast and well ! :winner:

And now some -very small- problems about the Avatar & Profile pics...

I uploaded pics that suits in terms of size (150x150, 6.14 Ko), but didn't succeed to make them appear in the forum ; the pics are in my profile allright, but each time I hit the "save changes" key, I get an error message, saying : "There has been an error in the upload. Please ensure that the file has been correctly selected and that the upload has taken place successfully."

Same for my signature : it's there allright, but doesn't appear in the forum.

As we have to reach 250 posts before to get the right to have an avatar, I was just asking to myself if our accounts could have been pull back to zero, explaining the "error" message... despite the fact that the counter seems to be accurate (for me around 6500).

I think it's a minor problem, though...

Congrats again !

Ok think the Avatar problem may have been related to the fact that you need to be in multiple user groups.

Can you try it now.

Your signature is appearing to me........

Ahh ok - the size limitation for Avatars is 100x100
Profile pics can be 250 x 250 but Avatars are only 100x100

Ok been through the options and all looks ok - what format of picture were you trying to upload?

Terri, you're a rocket (i mean, as fast as !) ;)

I 'mchecking it now and come back here to report ASAP.

My pics are both 150x150... so the avatar is too large (bit it's said in the avatar rules 150x150...).

Note that on this post I still not have my updated signature...

It could possibly be one that I snapped on my mobile phone sometime in June... ;)

Hi jos, that error normally appears if you're trying to upload a file format not supported. Supported formats are .gif and .jpg

Let me know if this helps.

To quote FAB at the beginning

The pics are in my profile allright, but each time I hit the "save changes" key, I get an error message, saying : "There has been an error in the upload. Please ensure that the file has been correctly selected and that the upload has taken place successfully."

I've tried changing from a jpeg to a gif but no result

Thanks

Usually that error refers to an incorrect file type. Can you email (evilpumpkin@ten-tenths.com) me the graphic and I'll take a look

I have received the same error message however in fact the image (avatar) was uploaded successfully and does appear in my posts. Check your post to see if the avatar is ok.

Jos, in your case I believe it was a size issue - not sure why you didn't get the proper error message though - we'll have to look into that.

Check your email! :)
