The Drop Down functions for these sections remain "behind" the advertisement banner.

I have IE5.

You should seriously consider upgrading to IE6, IE5 is beyond its useful life and contains many security vulnerabilities. I'll take a look and see if the previous workaround for Opera (Moving the adverts) can be adapted for IE5

I think I'm right in saying IE6 (and of course alternatives like Firefox etc) are free?

IE6 is free from Microsoft, Firefox is free, Opera have a paid and a free version, the free version carries advertisments.
