Server too busy!!???ljakse 13 Dec 2004, 15:13 That was the message I was getting for about 5 min untill now. Gabrio 13 Dec 2004, 15:41 Yeah, I had that too for a while MagnetON 13 Dec 2004, 16:04 Sometimes servers get busy and rather than have a slow response there is a certain point at which a server busy message is send back rather than load the server for longer than is necessary. dtype38 13 Dec 2004, 20:45 Monday evening 7.25pm tried to log onto 10-tenths to see what's going on.... and repeatedly get a "server too busy" message until 7.42pm. Now bored and can only just be bothered to type this before surfing elsewhere. Bye Bye Bye Ken peespeed 13 Dec 2004, 22:21 I got the server busy error numerous times lastnight and again tonight dtype38 13 Dec 2004, 22:45 Got an email to say someone had posted a reply to this thread at 9.23pm. When I tried to see what had been said I just got "server too busy" again. I tried every 20-30 seconds and got here at 9.42pm 19 mins of being too busy on a Monday evening???? Is there a server problem or are you really that much a victim on your own success? Answers by email please, posts take too much effort to access. falcemob 13 Dec 2004, 22:54 Got an email to say someone had posted a reply to this thread at 9.23pm. Yep,it looks like it could be a victim of it's own success, most users online ever was tonight at 21:17. Maybe it needs more RAM MagnetON 14 Dec 2004, 08:06 This is VERY strange as the server logs don't actually show there being any problems around those times, I've changed one of the board parameters relating to user limits and will monitor the situation. If anyone does get the busy message can they please take a screen grab and e-mail it to grant.macdonald@royalridge.biz with the date and time of the problem. dtype38 14 Dec 2004, 10:15 Get "Server too busy" at 9.30pm and 10.20pm last night, but only tried once each time. What's a "screen grab" and how do I email one? Peter Mallett 14 Dec 2004, 10:24 A screen grab is done as follows: Look at screen message, click control print screen then open paint and select edit and paste. Then save the pic as a jpeg. Then go to e mail system and open new mail/compose etc. Paste saved pic onto e mail and send it to Grant. Funny enough, I got no problems at the times you mention. Wonder if it was ISP related> Ian Sowman 14 Dec 2004, 12:36 Other people I was chatting to last night said "Ten Tenths is down, server busy" even when it was working fine for me... dtype38 14 Dec 2004, 17:29 I'm on AOLBroadband, what are the others who get "server busy" on? Peter Mallett 14 Dec 2004, 17:44 TR.net Dial up. ;) falcemob 14 Dec 2004, 20:18 It was off altogether this afternoon with what looked like the hosts page up. Gabrio 14 Dec 2004, 20:26 Yes for me too and it showed the "slight problem with the server" message dtype38 14 Dec 2004, 20:29 I've been dropping in quite regularly this afternoon without any probs!! Curiouser and curiouser said the Clerk of the Course :santa: MagnetON 14 Dec 2004, 20:39 It was off altogether this afternoon with what looked like the hosts page up.This was a scheduled outage that was in the announcements at the top of every forum. Gabrio 11 Jan 2005, 14:45 Just to let you know, the server posted the "too busy" message for the last 10/15 minutes. Aysedasi 11 Jan 2005, 14:52 It does seem to be running rather slow today....... dtype38 11 Jan 2005, 15:28 Just came straight up for me and is running fine! dtype38 11 Jan 2005, 23:06 Mmmm.... Tues 10.03pm just got "server too busy" for a couple of mins. thebear 12 Jan 2005, 01:54 Mmmm.... Tues 10.03pm just got "server too busy" for a couple of mins. deposit 50p, please . . . . . Gabrio 13 Jan 2005, 17:23 Is it my computer or is the server a bit lazy today? EvilPumpkin 13 Jan 2005, 17:25 your computer of course........ ;) Well haven't had any problems here today. Are you getting server busy messages or is it just a bit slow? Gabrio 13 Jan 2005, 17:26 Just a bit slow since this morning. Takes a while to load pages but no messages. EvilPumpkin 13 Jan 2005, 18:46 Could just be a lag on the international connections then - it does happen from time to time - particularly when there's bad weather as usually a few cables will get damaged and all the traffic winds up on the remainder. Let us know if it continues for more than another 24 hours and we'll check into it, but we've not noticed any problems this end. Peter Mallett 14 Jan 2005, 08:14 My chair was squashing my telephone line, as soon as I moved it the site went so much faster! ;) StephenRae 14 Jan 2005, 10:20 I'm on AOLBroadband, what are the others who get "server busy" on? That explains that then  :brm: ralf fan 14 Jan 2005, 18:50 Well i couldnt get on in the last half hour... the server busy message kept coming up.... :( Should i take a hint and leave... :( ;) Kicking-back 14 Jan 2005, 19:03 I got the server busy message also for about ten minutes from 1720 Peter Mallett 14 Jan 2005, 21:05 I got the server busy message also for about ten minutes from 1720 Not surprised. We were only using flags in that century. I suspect the server was drunk. ;) Kicking-back 14 Jan 2005, 21:19 Yes - it was so slow it took me 284 years to complain! MagnetON 14 Jan 2005, 21:47 Occasionally server busy messages will occur, I don't see the need to report them to this thread whenever they happen. |
