Quoting Messages In Replies.

While we're on the subject of quotes, could the moderators please make a general announcement requesting that posters edit down quotes to just that bit they are replying too. I don't know about everyone else but I find it really annoying when someone quotes a 40 plus line post then just types "yes" or something like that to show agreement. Alternatively is it worth considering a button to "link" to the quoted post (with a "return" at the other end) so that the text doesn't have to be repeated at all?

I assume you didn't check this before posting.

If you're going to ask for announcements to be made then it would have made sense to check they hadn't already been made...

If everyone had read the announcements that had already been made, and were following the instuctions in those announcements, then I wouldn't have had occasion to make a request for an announcement about something that had already been announced. And that's my final pronouncement!

You don't. You just have to use the search function to look for the bit you're interested in.

Go to the FAQ and search for "quote"
