Autosport reports that Richard Burns crashed during practice for the Monte Carlo rally, which begins tomorrow. His car slid on ice between stages, and crashed head-on into a lorry.
Burns, his co-driver Robert Reid and the driver of a lorry were all uninjured in the accident.
Im glad to hear that Richard and his navigator are OK..but how bad is the car damaged ??..can they fix it or have they got a spare car to use..Must be a huge blow one day before the start of the season.

Yes, the car's not too badly damaged. It was just his recce car anyway, not the car he would have used in the actual rally
thats lucky then..i also read somewhere that Brittish sprinter linford Christie was going to have a ride with Burns..maybe he is having second thoughts now...and counting his stars he wasnt in the car when this happened.
I believe he already had his run... :) I recall him commenting on Burns' skill - can't imagine he'd have said the same if he'd been in the car when Burns had his shunt though
