Hello, the Formula 1 Williams FW07 was The most successful car of the ground effect era, began tu run in 1979 and ended in 1982. A complete historic with hires pics is here :

The most successful car? Well, the site is watermarked with the Williams logo and rather ignores Nelson Piquet winning the 1981 drivers' championship in a Brabham BT49 and Jody Scheckter and the Ferrari 312 T4 won both championships in 1979.

you should go there http://www.gurneyflap.com/brabhambt49.html to see that the site is, too, a fan of the Brabham BT49. The FW07 won in 79, 80 and 81 and Williams was world champion these 2 last years. Nothing beats the number of victories of the FW07, that's only the statistics. But, for having seen the 2 cars, I can tell you that I prefer the Brabham, a very beautiful design.
