pirenzo 13 Feb 2005, 00:55 erm, I think you meant to include a pic there ;)
Chaynes321 13 Feb 2005, 12:23 lol oops ... http://img233.exs.cx/img233/2706/gp01054jl.jpg
pirenzo 13 Feb 2005, 12:30 lol.
Nice track.
Chaynes321 13 Feb 2005, 12:32 a bit long maybe, shorten the infield?
Ian Sowman 13 Feb 2005, 13:15 What is the scale?
Chaynes321 13 Feb 2005, 13:23 well i just drew it ... i wanted the back straight to be about 900m - 1,000m, so thatl make the start finish straight about 800m ...
Ian Sowman 13 Feb 2005, 13:35 At a guesstimate the track is about four miles in length, which may be a bit long. If you reduce your scale by a factor of about three-quarters it might work better. Isn't a 1km straight a bit long anyway?
Chaynes321 13 Feb 2005, 13:41 1km ... shanghai back straight + bahrain start/finish are 1km ... yes they are long
Chaynes321 13 Feb 2005, 13:42 ian are you going to edit it?
pirenzo 13 Feb 2005, 13:51 Yeah, it probably is a bit long.
Shanghai, Sepang and Bahrain all have 1km+ straights. I think Shanghai's is the longest, 1.175km or something.
the_royksopp 13 Feb 2005, 16:42 Quite nice, CG! :).
Shanghai's is about 1.2km. The maximum allowed, according to FIA Appendix O, is 2km.
One of my old sesigns, which hopefully I'll figure out how to put into the computer, has a mile long front straightaway (1.6km), and a back stretch (it curves quite a bit) of around 2.5 miles (4km), which I've estimated gives the course a total length of 9.5miles (15.288km).
I love the classic road courses (Nordschleife, Spa-Francorchamps, Bathurst), so a four mile lap with a 1km straight isn't that massive in comparison. I guess it's all relative to what you're accustomed to.
Chaynes321 13 Feb 2005, 18:12 here it is again with shortcuts ...
can someone please show their detailed views or do an edit ...?

Chaynes321 23 Feb 2005, 11:16 is anyone going to edit this track or what?
pirenzo 23 Feb 2005, 17:42 Well, possibly. It is quite an effort though for someone elses track.
Try it yourself :)
And FWIW, I like the second one, its just a bit more varied, the infield section is a bit more taxing :)
Chaynes321 23 Feb 2005, 18:41 fwiw?
the_royksopp 23 Feb 2005, 22:01 For what its worth :)
