The teams are met to discuss the future of qually this weekend.... BE said...

"We will see what we can come up with. We ought to get it back to what it was before, everyone running altogether and the quickest guy is on pole."

Ofcourse JT was the only one not to attend the meeting....

But some positive news.... and hopefully whatever they come up with is well thought through and wont be one of those "change it mid-season" systems...

If they went back to the 1hr 12 lap quali system then I would be all for it changing mid-season. I think the grid is sufficiently competitive enough this year to really knock out the lights i n quali.

suprisingly Stoddy is all for changing it....i thought he's have liked this system where he is sure to get 4 laps under the spotlight.....

I think Stoddy's support for common sense won through on this situation. Once agains he's putting the health of F1 before his own.

I can live with that, but I don't really care what they do - I just want them do it on Friday/Saturday, or just on a Saturday. At least the drivers then have a clear 24hrs to refresh themselves and the viewing public, (you and me), get to see it live and complete.

This Sunday morning qually is a total farce as far as the viewer is concerned.

Another rant over on this subject! :rotate:

Whatever they do, it should be decided on Saturday, in front of the world's TV viewers. That is the most important aspect of any decision.

The problem people have overlooked is that with the current one-tyre/one-engine/qualify-on-race fuel rules there is no incentive to do a lot of laps, most teams owuld jsut do one conservative lap and then preserve teh cars.

Another danger is that drivers would be returnign to the pits much more slowly than before, potentially getting in the way of other drivers, which would randomize the grid a little, at the expense of safety, especially in the wet - ask Jochen Mass for his opinion on that situation if you're in any doubt.

I'm all for one hour quali on Sat.........either one hour free for all or split into 20min sessions.

Maybe have quali tyres........then separate race tyres.(2 completely seperate complete sets).

Quali on whatever fuel you want and put in however much you want for the race.

The one engine for two races is the biggest problem i think
.........i'm guessing they couldn't change that rule mid-season.

I feel a headache coming on :s
