Chaynes321 4 May 2005, 18:58 hello every1 ...
My Latest is here: http://img74.echo.cx/img74/6459/0405053lg.th.jpg (http://img74.echo.cx/my.php?image=0405053lg.jpg)
Unlike my previous designs i have included a decreasing radius turns ...
( Turn 10 / 11 )
Feel free to comment / edit / tart up (yes please) ;-)
Looks good CG.
Turns 2-5 look good, just because they're medium speed esses which you don't see so much of these days.
mandretti39 5 May 2005, 23:02 I like it, but I felt it needed a few changes. I agree with P, those medium speed esses are nice, so I kept them. The things I did were to round out a few corners, move the pits to the other side of the track, because where they are, there's no access to the pits from the short circuit (I asume its cerated by the red lines), and I included a couple of "Portland Festival Curves" style chicanes, one on the left side of the track, one on the right. The one on the left (the longer one) is used by those using the full circuit, and the one on the right (the shorter one) is used by those using the short circuit. Just like at Portland, the chicanes can be bypassed. Also, the pit for both tracks exit onto the chicane on the right.
Chaynes321 6 May 2005, 00:37 ... lol i didnt realise the lack of pit access oops
I might be tempted to make a multi-apex corner out of turn 14 (depending on how you count you could get a different number so its the long increasing radius right hander before the penultimate corner)
Chaynes321 8 May 2005, 18:16 ^^i like it ... :)
Lustigson 8 May 2005, 18:39 I'm working on an edit, too, but somehow I got into all this detail. It's almost finished, though. :)
Lustigson 8 May 2005, 19:53 OK, here's my view on your latest art work, CG.

You've kept the first 5 corners and the rest is totally different :p
Great graphics though (though I don't think the textured tarmac works, textured run-off would work a lot better)
Lustigson 8 May 2005, 20:08 Well, I noticed the big gap between the two 'claws' and I just had to put an extra section in it. ;)
By the way, both the track and the tarmac run-off are textured. :)
the_royksopp 8 May 2005, 20:46 BTW, Lustig, have you got a clean piece of your track texture? I wanna try and see what i can do with that in Paint ;).
Lustigson 8 May 2005, 22:44 Well, problem is that the texture I use is always semi-transparent, so I always need two layers, for example a white or light-grey under-layer and the dark-grey texture layer. But here's an example of the three different shades I use most:

Doesn't really float the boat, does it?
And i know, the track sucks! :).
Lustigson 9 May 2005, 17:12 Well, the effect looks better on a larger-scale image. I make my tracks at about 1600x1200 pixels now.
