Kicking-back 7 Jun 2005, 19:43 I've just been tallying up the scores from the latest round of the Champ Car predictions competition and I have a problem.
A user who was called "Saleen" has changed his name to avoid confusion with "Saleen S7R".
Unfortunately I can't work out what he's changed it to, meaning I can't add the scores up.
What's his new name?
AdamAshmore 7 Jun 2005, 20:27 k-b, he is now "Tom V". :)
Kicking-back 7 Jun 2005, 20:32 Thanks
Knowlesy 7 Jun 2005, 20:54 Tsk, you'd think people could think of the perfect name from the start! ;)
Isn't that right ASCII Man? ;)
AdamAshmore 7 Jun 2005, 21:20 Tsk, you'd think people could think of the perfect name from the start! ;)
Why do you say that Big Bertha, sorry, knowlesy?
Knowlesy 7 Jun 2005, 21:23
Well, you know, barring name clashes and all that, you should think hard about your name. Because it's unlikely you'll be allowed to change.
I should know, I spent literally 30 seconds choosing my username!
I spent two seconds chosing mine I just wanted to get posting and chat with other fans, I couldn't care less what my name was, although I wish I took a while now to choose something good, I hate the fact I chose my name spelt with a little l. ;)
macdaddy 8 Jun 2005, 05:24 Just be glad that you didn't spell it wrong!
The "L" and the "P" are pretty close together on the keyboard, afterall!
:)
Knowlesy 8 Jun 2005, 17:10 Although thankfully the "k" and the "b" aren't, because that would be very farcical.

Sure are, and I have been called Puke in the past, incase anyone wondered. ;)
*cough* Knowlesy *cough*
ASCII Man 8 Jun 2005, 18:10 Tsk, you'd think people could think of the perfect name from the start! ;)

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, knowles!
ralf fan 8 Jun 2005, 19:28 Well i am currently in negotiations with my agents about a new user name....
a third season of being a laughing stock is something i am not relishing after a disappointing first seven races...:(
;)
Knowlesy 8 Jun 2005, 20:07 What about villeneuve fan?
ralf fan 8 Jun 2005, 21:00 What about villeneuve fan?
'James Allen fan' was one that i was considering.... however seeing your recent avatars i think you have your heart set on it so i'll pass... ;)
Knowlesy 9 Jun 2005, 18:41 Are you genuinely going to try and change your name then? It won't be the same!
Sure are, and I have been called Puke in the past, incase anyone wondered. ;)
*cough* Knowlesy *cough*
someone called me rickyf1 once!
TheNewBob 16 Oct 2005, 17:32 Is there a possible procedure for changing usernames without losing post-counts etc.? People keep thinking my real name's Bob, despite what my signature says lol. When signing up I simply used an AOL screen name I was with at the time. Kinda wish I could change, but I don't wanna lose the near-thousand posts I've made...
EvilPumpkin 16 Oct 2005, 17:50 http://www.ten-tenths.com/forum/faq.php?faq=faq_probs#faq_problem_name
Can be found by searching the FAQ with the words "change name"
Nintendo 26 Oct 2005, 23:10 Yeah, but HOW do you change it?
EvilPumpkin 26 Oct 2005, 23:21 Nintendo, read the link please. If there's anything in that one paragraph you don't understand then please let me know exactly what it is and I'll try to explain it.
Chris Y 27 Oct 2005, 10:08 Assuming, for a moment, you did the decent thing and read the FAQ, you would have found this:
"The only way to change your user name is to ask an admin to do it for you. This is quite time-consuming for us so we will only do it if there is a valid reason for it. If you would like to request a name change you can contact any of the forum admins."
EvilPumpkin is one of the forum admins. Another one is MagnetOn - both can be contacted via the Private Messaging system to send them a name change request.
