I sort of get the feeling that it could very well be Mister Bishi who's come out firing in season 2001. Tommi's just won in Portugal and - added to his Monte victory - puts him in a rather commanding position in the WRC. I'd not dare bet against the four time champ.
If it had to be anyone else, at this stage it looks like the old master, Carlos Sainz who could take the title.
Peugeot is in dire trouble, as is Subaru and Colin McRae. They'll perform better as the season moves along, but by then, it could be too late...

Hmmm...it looks bad for my beloved Colin....I think eighter Tommi or Carlos will win this year.
i think that tommi is looking like regaining his crown and will probably do so by winning 5 or 6 wrc events this year....carlos will come a close 2nd as he will finish 2nd 6 or 7 times this year.

D'ya sort of get the feeling that - after failing to win the title for the fifth time in succession in 2000 - Mitsubishi and Tommi Makinen are more fired-up than ever?
Five out of six. Not a bad record all the same, thanks...

Burns
Next question........
Sainz, Mr.Consistency.
Remember though this time last year no one even suggested Gronholm. Never write anyone off at this time of the season.
