Forum running slow or..........

....not at all. It's all been a bit slow or not running at all (twice) for the past few days. This doesn't relate to any specific times except when nothing would open at all Thursday and Friday early evening.
Has anyone else had any problems?
All the other sites I visit are running OK.

Earlier it wouldn't let me in but no real problems... :)

The forum is quite slow with me as well, the server seems to take a while to respond...

I have the same problem (?) at the moment at home, but not at the office in Germany.
So could it be own local server related?

:Shrug: It was verrrrry sloooooow about 10h30 (15h30 in the UK) this morning but seems to have recovered nicely at 14h30 (19h30 in the UK) - no prior difficulty. :error:

I'll keep an eye on it, although to be honest, we've usually found that it's a problem with external connectivity rather than with the servers themselves.

I've been having that problem. Wait a couple of minutes, click on 'Submit reply' again & it comes up with a 'duplicate post' error, then takes me back to the thread I'm posting in, where the reply has actually already been posted.

Edit: This one posted OK.

I've not had any problems recently, in fact it seems quite good at the moment.

I just keep getting an error page after I hit submit post, but the post is still there. And yes, the forum is running cripplingly slowly.

There were some configuration changes made to the back-end database server and occasionally it takes a little time for these changes to take effect (as the database server builds up a cache of the most frequently used posts, threads, etc.)

I'm monitoring the situation but as of time of posting this reply the forum performance levels seem normal, if not slightly faster than normal.

For anyone that's interested we changed the database server to do "over the wire" replication to a backup database. This means that unlike other motorsport forums (and I've been told there ARE other motorsport forums) we now do not have to take the main database offline to perform backups and have an "instant" backup that we can use at any time in the event of a database server issue.

If you want slooooowwwwwwww, try a forum that begins with Pist and ends in ads, you can grow old trying to get on there :laugh:

EDIT I have still the posting problem.No, we're using mySQL's in built replicator. Actually I've turned it off for the moment as it was really an experiment, it'll be turned back on when I've sorted out the "offsite" backup location.

Exactly the same for me.

'Submit message' is very slow,everything else is working fine. :)

Very strange, there's nothing that should be causing issues with posting but I'll look at it in more detail to make sure.

I thought there was something wrong at my end as I have been having the same problems for the last couple of days.
Whenever I hit the submit post button nothing seems to happen for a couple of minutes so I hit the submit post button a second time and an error comes up saying this is a duplicate post to one I just posted and returning you to the thread (or similar I cant remember the exact wording).
Having written all that, it all seems to be working OK now, maybe during that recent outage something you experts have done fixed the problem

After todays unscheduled maintenance outage (See here : http://www.ten-tenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73617 ) we are confident we've addressed some of the performance issues.
