pirenzo 27 Jul 2005, 19:54 Couldn't resist it. I thought we'd agreed to do the next MTR at 9000 posts but I was wrong, but I'd had some ideas anyway and this was one of them. I liked the track a lot so I really went to town on it.
Lemme see, I've got all the usual - kerbs, racing line, textured grass, 3d ish buildings etc. Plus I've got tyre barriers, marshal's posts, little cars wizzing round, cars in the car parks, and started down Lustig's textured asphalt route, except I don't think it works for the track itself so left it on the tarmac run off, but very subtly. Oh, and I threw in some clouds and a beach with waves crashing on it for good measure ;)
There are three different layouts with a common pit lane, plus a racing school track with its own pit lane.

#15 tkm 4/ 27 Jul 2005, 22:22 i really really dont know why but the bottom end of it reminds me of bahrain
pirenzo 27 Jul 2005, 22:24 Quite a lot about it reminds me of Bahrain! :)
I like the shortcut at the top of the course, and that's something Bahrain has so inevitably it was going to have a similar shape
#15 tkm 4/ 27 Jul 2005, 22:27 i actually was thinkinf od the part in the very bottom right looks like the last corner at bahrain which leads onto the long straight
the_royksopp 30 Jul 2005, 14:04 I believe MTR4 is at 10000? The other three being at 2500, 5000 and 7500.
That is quite beautiful though!
Mike_Wooshy 30 Jul 2005, 16:42 very nice P !!

That's a really good track i like it alot, what did you use to make it, because its amazingly detailed.
i know that wasn't an MS Paint job.
Mike_Wooshy 12 Aug 2005, 00:30 something called the GIMP :)
Rockmunky 12 Aug 2005, 12:11 Wow the gimp can do that?
I might have to download that... :D
Speed Demon 13 Sep 2005, 00:12 Not sure that racer has got the final corner quite right!! :D
Lustigson 16 Sep 2005, 12:45 Very cool, P, but the track doesn't appear to be very wide, since the car overtaking at turn one is almost on the other side of the track. :)
pirenzo 16 Sep 2005, 12:46 Well, it has more to do with the fact I couldn't make the cars any smaller without them just looking like dots, they're oversized by about 300% ;)
Lustigson 16 Sep 2005, 13:05
P mate, that look great. As for the layout, reminds me a lot of Vallelunga...
Love it...
American_Racing 11 Apr 2006, 23:22 Dude!
That rocks, but If i could improve it slightley, id remove all of the corners apart form about 2.
Then it would be Rocking!
V8_TURBO 15 Apr 2006, 21:19 You could do the same detail on photoshop. (assuming that you know how)
pirenzo 16 Apr 2006, 02:13 Yeah, and assuming you had the money to buy it ;)
You could almost certainly do more detail than that in photoshop...
Rockmunky 16 Apr 2006, 12:00 I couldn't because 1) I don't really know how and 2) I don't have the patience to faff around with that stuff :p
ScotsBrutesFan 16 Apr 2006, 13:56 Photoshop elements that I use to flesh out the ideas
Lustigson 16 Apr 2006, 14:03 I have Photoshop Elements, too, but I haven't found out how to do those 'Bezier Curves' or whatchamacallit.
pirenzo 16 Apr 2006, 14:03 Elements is inferior to GIMP. The full photoshop package includes the most useful functions*.
EDIT: *Such as Bezier Curves Lustig

I was afraid of that... ;)
