This thread defeats the point of having a dedicated sub-forum doesn't it?

The original 'My Tracks' thread accumulated 7000+ posts, and was closed (see top of the forum) and this sub-forum was created in order to make things easier to follow.
Now there's another potentially endless thread? :Shrug:

I don't mind letting this thread stay, provided it remains a discussion about what people think was/were their (or even other's) best track(s) and not a "here's my latest track" thing. New tracks should have a thread of their own preferably; and edits of real tracks should remain in their separate threads as well please.

Agree too. I've changed the title just to give it a chance. I'm thinking of those interested posting one track - their best one. As pirenzo says, lets have threads created which serve a purpose - there are no prizes here for starting a record number of duplicitous threads....... ;)

What software do you guys use for creating your tracks on the pc?

Well, I can't speak for everyone, but some use Photoshop/Paint Shop Pro etc, I use the GIMP which is a free version of PS/PSP really, some use the draw functions in Excel (which is very good, believe it or not), and others use the humble mspaint :)

Im with P and i use the Gimp, well the gimp 2.0 now LOL :p although my tracks are slight less complex ...

I use paint. I've been drawing tracks in paint for 3 years now, and i guess my skills into that are somewhat advanced - i could start drawing in GIMP, but i don't feel like learning it all over again :).

Concerning my best track, i guess it has to be Autodromo de Lago di Bracciano (http://bracciano.fantasytracks.2ya.com/) . I don't know why, but the flow of that track just came to me once, and i really like it :).

paint is great for editing tracks.

dark green is trees.
brown is the pier.
light grey is the path.( used for track )
dark grey is the track.
red is pit building.
white is barrier.
there is a paddok but it is not in the picture.
this track would be in a scottish park.

has everybody lost intrest in this thread?

We got the idea the first time you said that this thread should be closed, there is no need to reiterate the point twice more.

Furthermore, if people weren't interested in the My Tracks forum, it wouldn't be here. Obviously we're a bit of a niche community (and thus you shouldn't expect crowds like Parc Ferme or the F1 forums get) but just because we aren't posting 500000000 times a day doesn't mean there is no activity whatsoever.

I realise I am an outsider here, but... is that meant to be some sort of kart track? Or are you seriously thinking that formula and saloon cars would run on it?

I must say i also have it difficult looking at that track without thinking 'kart'.

A recommendation: Try to draw your track as one single line instead of to lines with filling in between. That'd help tremendously.

Hi, it's TilkeWannabe again. I was wondering how to get drawings of your fantasy tracks onto the website because I draw mine by pencil but don't want to use paint or anything like that beause I don't like paint much. I want to show off some of my better designs on the site, see what you fellow designers think. Hi,

first you must digitalize your drawing. That means two choices: you either use a scanner or a digital camera.

Once the picture is digitalized you can load it into your computer as an image file and then all you have to do is upload it here. That is also easy:

One way: upload the picture to an online store site and simply link it here. Click on the link button above the Quick Reply window (the button with a globe and chain) and paste the image's address there.

The other, and i think better way: first, you switch here to Advanced mode. Do it by clicking on the "Go Advanced" button just under the "Quick Reply" window. That way you get more editing options.
If you are in advanced mode, you can, for example, attach images to your comment. To do it, click on the attachments button - it's the one with a paper clip on it, above the comment window. That opens a seperate window where you can attach the files on your computer. You may attach 6 images for one comment, with filesize limits but the limits and attachable file types are indicated there.
Once the files are uploaded, close the upload window. Back here, you can attach them tin your comments by clicking again on the paper clip button where you see the uploadad files' names.
Don't be surprised: when you attach a file, you won't see the image itself until your comment is submitted :)

I will call it the Carousel Tower. Spectators inside the tower (top deck) are treating to a revolving (therefore panoramic) view of the entire circuit.

Starting a new thread: it's simple. On the My Tracks ( http://www.ten-tenths.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=59 ) page you should find a black "New Thread" button top left.
