a1 Australian team?F1_KING 18 Aug 2005, 09:33 whats the lastest on them. Who are the drivers. I heard alan jones was gonna be the boss, maybe his son will be one of the drivers? Kicking-back 18 Aug 2005, 09:40 Alan Jones is the boss. Christian Jones may be one of the drivers. An announcement's due in the next couple of weeks. Dylanl 18 Aug 2005, 11:41 If Christian Jones is the driver, ill buy an airfare to the first round in the UK and personally kick Alan Jones in the face. Why choose Christian Jones when he can choose drivers like Will Davidson, Will Power, James Courtney etc etc... complete utter madness. On a side note, is anyone else going the A1GP at Eastern Creek? Cause I sure as hell am! karting legend 18 Aug 2005, 13:42 maybe he is the one who is paying Dylanl 18 Aug 2005, 15:37 Paying for what? A1GP does not need pay drivers... they have enough money. What they need is world class drivers competing against one of them, and I'm sorry, but I along with many others do not class Christian Jones as a world class driver. Don K 18 Aug 2005, 21:54 Paying for what? A1GP does not need pay drivers... they have enough money. The team has to buy the franchise. karting legend 18 Aug 2005, 23:59 Don k is right the team has to buy the franchise depending on the country this can be alot SALEEN S7R 19 Aug 2005, 00:38 I dont see that being a issue for Australia though, I mean ok Australia doesent have the money the UK or USA has for example but it certainly has more than enough to buy a franchise in A1 GP. IMO. DKGandBH 19 Aug 2005, 00:46 Christian is the driver doing all the driving at the moment... He is in the lower 1/4 (as in slower) of the times. DKGandBH But he is faster than Jos! Oaksnaf 19 Aug 2005, 09:01 At the launch there was Christian Jones, Will Davison and Karl Reindler. Now it seems pretty obvious Jones will have one of the seats, and more than likely Will Davison the other. But a 3rd?? As on monday another Australian will fly to Europe to test the A1 cars. He will be driving at Philip Island, so ill go down and have a chat to him. Kicking-back 19 Aug 2005, 09:10 Now it seems pretty obvious Jones will have one of the seats, and more than likely Will Davison the other. But a 3rd?? Just to clear up a misunderstanding I've seen a few times in relation to A1GP - there is only one car per team. cos 19 Aug 2005, 10:38 Christian Jones, Will Power, Will Davison and Peter Hackett are going to test for the team at Paul Ricard next week (linky (http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=25526)) strider 19 Aug 2005, 13:59 Thanks for the link - interesting. I still think James Courtney should be given a run, though. Oaksnaf 24 Aug 2005, 08:16 Just to clear up a misunderstanding I've seen a few times in relation to A1GP - there is only one car per team. Are you postive about that? One car can be shared amongst two drivers then. As India has two confirmed drivers Karun Chandhok and Armaan Ebrahim. Great Britain have 2 confirmed aswell as Netherlands, Pakistan, CHina, Malaysia. I think you hvae the option of running a maximum of 2 cars? mac 24 Aug 2005, 08:53 Are you postive about that? One car can be shared amongst two drivers then. As India has two confirmed drivers Karun Chandhok and Armaan Ebrahim. Great Britain have 2 confirmed aswell as Netherlands, Pakistan, CHina, Malaysia. I think you hvae the option of running a maximum of 2 cars? Nope - only one car per team. However, as points are awarded to the team and not the driver, two or three drivers is certainly an option to the teams. Kicking-back 24 Aug 2005, 08:53 No - it is one car per team. However, the countries score points, rather than the driver. Britain will use two drivers over the season, that is true. Some other countries like India and the Netherlands have announced a lead driver and a reserve driver. MickAU 24 Aug 2005, 09:50 Theres one car for qualifying and the races but in Friday practice they have 2 cars. They can swap drivers between races too. Oaksnaf 24 Aug 2005, 14:02 Ahh thanks for clearning that up. |
