avatar help please

sorry to be severly blonde, but on the edit avatar page there appears to be no option whatsoever to customise it, apart from selecting mark knofler. do you have to have a certain amount of posts before you can select an avatar or have i missed something?

Ive had problems getting the photo small enough. Is my camera too good?

You'd need to crop/resize the picture using image editting software. Even "Paint" will do this for you.
