Hi guys first time here...I'm building a small prototype that uses a relativly small engine. I want to use a scooter starter for starting the engine...I've spooken to teams that use the same engine and I know the number of rpms the starter has to rotate the engine with to start it!
Now the question is....how many rpm's does a scooter starter have?
Any one know where I can find this kind of info?

i've no idea, most car engines used to crank at 120rpm,
the only way i can see you might otherwise findout, is to get a mechanical handheld tacho and physically try it on an engine
Hi jnman, and welcome to 10-10ths.
Interesting question, but for this sort of enquiry you really would do better to go to a supplier or manufacturer for this sort of thing. A quick Google search of "Starter motor, scooter" turned up this company on Merseyside http://www.cdiunit.co.uk/starter.html. Suggest you give them a ring or email as most supplier are happy to give technical info if you say its for a racing machine :)
Well I've found a few scooter starters that can rev up to 18000 rpm though under load they rev between 10000 and 12000. Thanks anyway guys
