Apparently, Mario Andretti has signed with Panoz to run this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans. He tested the Panoz Spyder at Road Atlanta, setting some quick times and suffering only one spin in turn 7.
Le Mans is about the only major race Andretti hasn't won. He finished 2nd in a Courage in 1995, and I think, 2nd in a Porsche in the early 1980's.
I for one, am very glad to see him back behind the wheel at Le Mans.
apparently this is true Jared I have been talking about this in the topic called "rumors"..lets hope this does happen as to see Mario drive again would be something very special
The only thing that may hinder the Panoz winning LeMans is that they are not using the Robert Yates produced sportscar engine this year. The engines are powerful and ultra-reliable. Hopefully the powerplant being used proves worthy. I'd love to see Mario take home the greatest sportscar trophy in the world.
