I would like to learn about the design of Uprights, spindles and hubs. I appreciate that it's a broad topic so perhaps I could get started with a specific question:
Are there standards for spindle threads and locating pins for the use of center lock wheels?
If someone could respond with sources of information on this topic it would be helpful.

The PCD (3.75" I think) wheel stud pattern for many formulae cars was inherited from the common use of the Standard 10 and later Triumph Spitfire front uprights, they were even used on 1960s Formulae 1 cars. I would guess that racing car builders in the higher formulae have all gone their separate ways since then.

I think that the weight and the forces the car will generate have to be considered as there are a number of designs that I have seen.
We us a 5 peg design originally used on the Prosport 3000 cars. This is mainly down to us using a similar layout of spindles and bearings taken from the Ford parts shelf. Lighter cars could probably use a lighter weight design. Not much positive help maybe, but I've tried to offer some guidance.

I've got cast steel uprights and a reasonably stout stub shaft, but a decent chicane or s-bend gives me a full pedal travel of knock back on my pads :( If anyone knows of a decent design guide for them I'd be very interested too.
