I have Kurt Reinold's 1969 McKee F5000 Mk 12C, and my friend has Dr. Dick DeJarld's 1972 McKee F5000 Mk 18. We are looking for any pictures, articles, etc. that anyone may have about these cars. Hopefully both cars will be racing at the Vintage Races at Road America in July 2006. Thanks.....

Have you checked out www.oldracingcars.com ? There's some stuff about the cars there. Allen Brown and Chris Townsend have compiled an absolutely magnificent resource and I'm sure they'd be glad to hear from you.

I have a number old decals on my car that are 35 years old. Does anyone know how to take them off without destroying them?

I have kept some of the old flyers that Mid-Ohio used to send out before certain races and I'm pretty the Formula Continental series for F5000 cars would have been one they sent these out for. Whoever wrote these flyers liked Mcees and they usually got a write-up before the race. What of them I have are not in one location but scattered around in other car magazines from the period. If I can find something, I'll scan or copy it for you.

Incidentally, apologies to all those expecting to see Mckee discussion. We have got a little off topic although it has been a natural progression. If this Lola discussion proceeds further, I'll split it off from the original thread.
Now done! All posts onwards from Fastlane's above have been moved to a new Lola F5000 thread. If any info. has got lost in the process (Al's info. on decals?), my sincere apologies.

Roger,
Have you been able to find any old flyers about McKee's car since we talked in November?
Thanks and Merry Christmas!!
Paul (FastLane)
Hi,
I'm a McKee F5000 fan. Kurt Reinold most likely has a bunch of pictures of his Mk12 and would send you copies. The last phone number I had for him was 815-637-6753 during the day. He was kind enough to send me some pictures of his Mk8 about 14 months ago.
Fortunately Mr. Reinold was a huge man which makes fitting into his cars fairly straightforward.
I checked through Wolfgang Klopfer's book "Formula A & Formula 5000 in America" but there's no mention or pictures of either of your cars except to note that Kurt Reinold came in 6th at Laguna Seca in the 12.
I'm awaiting some old Vintage Racecar mags that I won on Ebay. They supposedly cover the history of F5000. If they have any worthwhile pictures or info I'll make you copies.
Good luck with your cars,
j3r006
