I've just looked at the BRSCC East Anglia form and it asks for a BRSCC membership number - which I haven't got.

This begs the question do you have to be a member to do their meetings or can anyone volunteer?

Nice to see that the EA Centre have more dates but the weekend they have for the 24 hour Britcar race is very wrong unless they are going to share the track with the likes of Mr Button and Mr Coulthard!!

The VSCC's Pomeroy Trophy @ Silverstone on the last Saturday in Feb, is a great way to start the season, a laid back day, some wonderfull old cars, & a chance to say Hi to people you haven't seen since the last meeting of 2005.
Will I be there? no, it clashes with the Historic Car Show @ Stoneleigh (Coventry) where I'm on the 750MC stand.

Shame on you. What will those "pomes" do without you?

I've just volunteered via Julian's fantastic site.

I really love Julian's site because it makes life so much easier for lazy s*ds like me. And I have been known to "find" a form I could have sworn I'd posted months ago...

Can I just add to the thanks to Jules for taking the time and effort to do all of this from the goodness of his heart. It is a service that is without parallel.

I have only one thing to say:

Jules: GET A LIFE - or can't you go flying in the winter???

And, before anyone takes offence on Julian's behalf, I am 99% sure that he will get the joke. If I am wrong (and, let's face it, million to one chances happen 9 times out of 10) then I fully expect a phone call telling me so from the man himself (which is why my mobile is now "off").:)

I shall be there, and will probably thank you personally. I spent a very happy time last night clicking boxes and dispatching messages to volunteer for the season, and much easier than the old way it was too. The only shame is that BRDC isn't on there so I'm going to have to look for the form. I was also quite tempted to volunteer to myself!

I like the way you get a summary so that it can be printed and kept. The only improvement I can think of is to have a 'submit for insurance' button on the bottom of the confirmation so that it produces an electronic green slip to the BMMC. Something for the future, perhaps?

Shelagh

Julian, hadn't looked at this thread for a while so apologies for kyboshing the weather for you way back when (note to self: find out when Jules is next flying and have a word with the top man - Bernie - so he can get God to make it shine).

Now if only I could make this true so we don't get snowed in at Mallory on Sunday!

PS: Quote: "The Fat Clerk only flies in aeroplanes that have engines - preferably 4!" - Is that how many takes to get you airborne, Dave???????

I probably owe Bricey a hug now as well!!!!!

10 Mar 2006, 18:52
Yeah & that's pushing it.
I really need one of those Russian Antonov things.
Many, many years, a load of us from the rugby club went on a Parachute Jump for charity, I was the last one out of the plane, & the first one to hit (literally) the ground, & I had a 3 canopy 'trick' chute not the normal one.

Shelagh
