Cheers. winnie 20 Dec 2005, 11:24 From memory, Nick not Mick Jones started competing in the Nova challenge and i think won the championship. He had support from Bazil Thomas and he bought him an escort cossie GpN which he used in British and i think some Euro rounds. He then disappeared for a couple of years and returned with the current Mike Turpin Nova, but with an 8 valve 1600 engine. I remember him leading the final at Pembrey when i think his throttle cable broke, which left Dave Ward to win in his 8 port Metro. I don't know if he ever raced again, but Turpin bought the Nova shortly afterwards. He used to live near Hereford. I think he won a Euro round in the Sapphire actually. Bloody talented driver, dont know if he ever drove a supercar. Anyone know what he is doing now? Nick is working for Suzuki on their junior WRC programme. He has done alot of work on the new Swift model and no doubt the WRC verison. He travels alot and spends little time in the UK. However............ expect Nick to return to rallycross in the not-to distant future in a new car in a new class!! |
