Would anyone follow if I ever start one on the T380-T390-De Cadenet ? Here i'm totally lost and as you've have noticed it before, Stackey book is more than elusive or wrong on that matter

may as well start the new thread of t380 390 cars there where 5 or so built plus the de cadanet version and then his other creations so technically that is 3 threads to start !

T380s, 1 to de Cad, in early 75, plus 1 to Italy? T390s, 1 to both of Edwards and Raymond in UK, one to Germany perhaps ?

Yes, a T380 came to Italy, entered by Jolly Club was debuted at the Nurburgring 1000, driven by Brambilla and Pianta, engineered by Gianfranco Bielli....the following year it was driven by Capoferri and Others (Casoni, Dini...) for BCZ (Bielli-Capoferri-Zugan), the car is still in Italy, recently was seen on Grace magazine...

Depends, are you going to restore it as the De Cadenet LM4 or as a Skoda Superloon?

How did it get together with that body? Are you even sure it is what the plate says it is?

You're a brave man. Hope it was cheap. :)

How did it get together with that body? that body was fitted to go into the collection it was acquired as a seperate purchase with another lola deal RB conducted- my view is he made a DeCad LM car for display rather than hunt down the real McCoy- i would have done the same thing i once saw toyota Gp C 86 car painted in rothmans livery and i was then looking at the LM winning 956 in a car showroom !!!Are you even sure it is what the plate says it is? it said lola t390 hu3 made in bolton:rofl:

Fausto can you send me a copy of this articel Is it the T380 or the t390 car i have 1 foto of white car with high airbox
i think 1 T390 car also went to Italy and did some 2 litre races and then was enterd with DFV but maybe its a misprint in the results page- what can you tell me?

I have foto of the T390 hu4 ? in Japan and some Fisons Raymond HU1
CI Caravan Edwards T390 HU2 pics plus 1 Binder photo from Interserie
who had the 5th chassis?
is this the Italian car?

The t390 of Jauslin went to Dieter Schulz for 1977 season as he then had the t292 hu50 car
Roland Binder races aT390 79 & 80 seasons (perhaps this car) as Schulz has a Sauber
So what car did Binder have it was BMW powered?
Peter Groh shared the car in WCM Nurburgring 1979 race and 1 Interserie race
Max Sigrist also drove a car with BMW power 1980

Also there was another car in Germany driven by Jorg Zabrowski i think its misprint for 290 as he raced t290 in 1977 Interserie races then later its t390 in the results its not the Jauslin car as both raced at the same events

Any comments guys??

was that not earlier after Lord had the car in 74?
im sure that interserie lists 2 litre car
i will recheck however Zabrowski is listed as driving t290 in a few races that year hence my thought of a misprint

driftwood
10 Dec 2006, 12:24
Yes strider you are correct it was Zaboroswki in the T280 hu4 car
1 website lists the car as t390 but Martin Krecji site has the div 1 and 2 in the results which helps and he lists the car as T280 in 1977 results

also Capoferri is listed as driving T390 when in fact it is T380 DFV car

Guys your not very helpful here none of you have come up with any useless or even useful info!
I now have the car and taken off the body
I also inspected the other car took some fotos then found i had wiped them off VERY STUPID i know so dont tell me! the other car was ininially entered in Bonhams auction as T380 poss HU1 then it had amended note on day of auction that it was T390
I will not pass any further comment here until i go back and get rear end fotos as there was something on the car that was quirky/confusingNot sure who bought it but I have my suspicions

My car is t390 hu3 plate afixed with de cad lm 4 body fitted in Dorset colours TB drivers name on misc stickers and 1983 LM 24 hueres stickers
having removed the body i find dfv airbox bonded in to tail lights wiring system
Does anyone know who made the De Cad body a si seek the moulds now
The chassis has as i suspected had side pod extensions added to accept the 20-50 mm wider De Cad body
This is far nicer than the t390
I WOULD PREFER TO RUN IT LIKE THIS BUT FIA PAPERS AND ALL THAT RUBBISH KILLS THAT OFF- AMAZING THAT U CAN MAKE A NEW CAR FROM SCRATCH GET PAPERS ETC YET I COULD NOT RUN ORIGINAL CAR WITH AN ORIGINAL BODY OF THAT PERIOD FITTED TO THE CAR!
So guys i need some fotos of the T390 car running with Jueslin Schults in Interserie and the 2 1975 european sports car races with Ruedi
would love to get under body fotos as well

Hello, I post the text below in the De Cadenet section and my question is about the T380 HU01 De Cadenet. Who know something about this car wich was a true Lola and a fake De Cadenet ?

"i am glad to read pinguino about the Belga livery car. I saw the car at Le Mans Classic, and the chassi plate is GLC 913 !
I think that it is for Gordon Len and CadeneT, but why 913 ?

I try to know how many De Cadenet with Lola Corners (mean suspension ?, sorry but i am french) was build.

I opened a french topic about Lola and De Cadenet on http://forums.motorlegend.com/vb/showthread.php?t=27067
and some guys put nice pictures.

my thinking is now :
Alain De Cadenet built the Duckams wich become the 74 De Cadenet et become later the "Morris Minor".

He built 2 ADC cars :
The GLC 913 wich i suppose was ADC 77 and is now the Belga Car.
The ADC 78, and i believe this car become the first Ecosse and was destroyed in a crash.

So the mistery is now about the Lola HU01 De Cadenet, i believe this car was the BAT car then the Fisons car ; where HU01 is now ?

Could you help me ?"

Thanks

If the 1975 De Cadenet car is/was chassis HU01 you'd call it De Cadenet Lola, although, from my point of view, it was a lot more Lola than De Cadenet, you could't see a lot of difference between the 1975 standard T380/90 and AdC car, later versions were a lot more different...

I don't think that the Duckhams car became the Morris Minor, its chassis had nothing to do with Lola and, if I remember well, was later used as a base for a Special/Super Saloon car. The car was recently restored in its standard Gp.6 form, it's a piece of motor racing history, being a "design by the Gordon Murray" :)

I am agree for the 75 lola de Cadenet : it was a true Lola T380 HU01
i believe this car ran Le Mans also in 1976.

Then he built a De Cadenet with Lola Corner (ADC 77/1) and sold the HU01 to simon philips the car was the Bat then the Fisons car at Le Mans

For the Duckhams who ran in 72, 73 and 74 (green livery), its correct that it was a Gordon Murray design based on BT33 suspension.

On the De Cadenet topics, pinguino said that this car become the ADA which was something look a like De Cadenet, but with Lola front suspension., that is why i presume, its was a melting pot between Lola, De Cadenet and 906 windscreen. But what was the chassis coming from ?

A T290 ? or the Duckams ?

I TYPED UP A REPLY TO YR MAIL BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN LISTED
I NOW ADVISE

He built 2 ADC cars :
The GLC 913 wich i suppose was ADC 77 and is now the Belga Car.
The ADC 78, and i believe this car become the first Ecosse and was destroyed in a crash.THIS IS NOT TRUE A CAR WAS DESTROYED IN A CRASH BUT IT IS NOT THE ECOSSE Gp C CAR

So the mistery is now about the Lola HU01 De Cadenet, i believe this car was the BAT car then the Fisons car ; where HU01 is now ?DE CAD BOUGHTT380 HU1 raced at 75 LM then sold car to Dorset racing
76 Thompson makes ne chassis fits lola corners car is 76 LM entry called LM2
77 another new car is built De Cad needs new car to get sure fire LM entry= LM3
78 build another car LM4 later sells to Martin Bros and they then but another car from De cad that is allegedly built up from his pile of spare parts so they have 2 cars
LM4 now with Mr B it sits in his museum in Ireland

T390 hu2 is in italy
there is no T290 involved in any of these cars

HU1 now in scandanavia
car last raced arund 1981 i have BHatch Gp 6 race for Birchenhough

The 'Duckhams 72-74 de Cad' became the Colin Hawker DFVW in 1975.
The ADA 'Minor' was based on a T290 from memory, not a de Cad.

HU2 is in Italy with original factory body

LM4 is built for 1978 raced by De cad at LM and other events then sold to Martin Bros as Belga car now with Birrane

car was sold new to Ruedi Jasuelin then to deiter schulz

here is all the info

Lola built 5 T390 2 litre sports cars in 1975 aimed at the European sports car championship to superscede the T290 –294 range of cars with 2 Cars to the UK, 2 for Germany and 1 to Japan
All where powered by Cosworth BDG or Hart 420R motor except 1 car had BMW M12 engine

Three cars raced in the 1975 European Sports car championship but it was to be the last year of this championship as it was held over 2 rounds 1 in the UK and 1 in Germany.
Afterwards the cars raced in Interserie events held mainly in Germany over the next 5 seasons

HU3 was sold in 1975 to Swiss Ruedi Jauselin then in 1978 to Berliner Dieter Schulz who raced the car in Interserie until 1981 when the car was parked up and not used
Guy Edwards HU1
Martin Raymond HU2
Ruedi Jauselin HU3
Japan HU4
Germany HU5 BMW power

The new Janos Wimpffen book, Spiders & Silhouettes has some photos of both 380's and 390's including a photo of T380 HU2 heading for the catch fencing after sheding is front body work at the 'ring. Great photo as Pianta seems to be hanging on and looking very exposed.

Mario Capoferri's 1976 T390 (or T380) car is also shown, there is also a photo of the Capoferri DFV car from 1980. Was that made up using the Lola as a base?
