Here's holding out for a wet qualifying. :)
Wet anything would be fantastic!

Mine's a pint.
avsfan733 14 Mar 2006, 15:15 I am curious to see what Red Bull can do in the wet. Even in the hot as heck weather it seems that the rain may help with their cooling problems. If they can get rid of the aero ducting that I am sure is hurting the car it might be interesting to see what Adrian Newey ('s influence on the car) and Ferrari's engine can do together
Schummy 14 Mar 2006, 15:54 I'm intrigued how the new qualifying format could work in wet session! In can be a chaos or be extremely interesting.
I hope it rains on Saturday! :)
Dani Filth 14 Mar 2006, 16:26 and Sunday :)
Knowlesy 14 Mar 2006, 16:40 It'll be dry.
It'll be dry.
Never a truer word spoken I think Knowlsey, its always dry.
Never a truer word spoken I think Knowlsey, its always dry.
Except when it's wet. ;)
I have just posted in the Toyota thread about how they will be praying for rain. I then come into this thread.
I pray for pouring rain all weekend, seeing as we have not had a "proper" wet race for years. I just hope, should it be a wet race, that the authorities don't get all scared and start the race behind the safety car.
If it rains like it usually rains in that part of the world, they'll be lucky to see the safety car!
Yeah, I know, it is hard to see over the pitwall from inside the cockpit!
When was the last wet race? Brazil 2003?
Not sure if you can count Spa 2005 as it never rained during the race itself, although the track was damp to start with.
I'd say the last proper wet race was Brazil 2003.
So we're definitely overdue a wet one.
Absolutely.
2005 was deeply frustrating, not to mention tiring, given I was doing rain dances every weekend.
marzF1rocks 14 Mar 2006, 21:26 sounds like itcould be an intreasting race.... Rain always makes play better
wet Malaysian race would be more interesting than one in the heat.
Chances of a wet race are increasing by the hour........joy. :)
Where is Adam with his updating image?
That was great.

You obviously need to work on your rain dance technique then mister! ;)
Tell me about it!
I began to lose the knack about 2001. Perhaps 2005 was such a disaster because I was trying to way overuse the potential.
Normally it wuld only be done, roughly speaking, 3 times a year. Kept for important situations. Last year it was most races of the year, given the terrible situation.
Perhaps the powers that be were not impressed, plus there may have been developments in the rain dance technique that I am unacquainted with.
Heh maybe you're trying to hard..? I mean, it's something that shouldn't be used too often, only when really really needed. And these things do update all the time, so you may be right that you're a little behind on the latest developments.
Yep, indeed, Suze.
I have learned the error of my ways, but I should do some googling to check out the latest word on rain dancing. :-p
Good, glad to hear it. Get it right! ;)
Schummy 16 Mar 2006, 10:58 The best way to get a wet race is Ferrari wanting it. Somehow Max would manage to hand it ;)
Dani Filth 16 Mar 2006, 11:27 they didn't listen to them last year .. and god knows they've want it :)
elspethhardie 16 Mar 2006, 11:40 A wet race would be great but to almost garentee that they would need to move the race to later in the day! It is almost like clockwork out there that it rains in the afternoon! Great fun.
Sepang weather:
Here (http://www.kjc.gov.my/htdocs2/data/T047E.html)
And here (http://my.myway.com/weather/obs.jsp?id=MYXX0031)
And here (http://www.itv.com/page.asp?partid=52&CircuitID=2)
And here (http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/MYXX0031.html)
They all seem to amount to the same prediction as before:
Clear mornings, with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoons, with a 60% chance of precipitation.
The % seems to vary from 30-60, and with showers or thunderstorms being a debate. It might be wet, it might not!
Very helpful...
Knowlesy 18 Mar 2006, 16:25 Nice to see our budding Michael Fish's on song again. ;)
It better rain tomorrow.......
Dani Filth 18 Mar 2006, 16:34 it probably won't rain ..

Jukebox 19 Mar 2006, 00:18 I live abt 15km from Sepang, the weather nowadays is very hot in the afternoon and sometimes it rain and sometimes it dosen't in the evening.
I'd say it's gonna be a hot sunny day during the race weekend
Schummy 19 Mar 2006, 02:26 Juke, please don't *rain* on the parade! ;) :bmood:
We *want* a wet race :brm: :woot:
(This is a tutorial on smileys)
hi guys! I think it will be impossible to rain too ;) sorry guys.
1. It's hot from March to August in Malaysia.
2. They have powerful bomoh (malay witch doctor) to pray for sunny weather.
3. If you can persuade Bernie and Max to change it back to October.
Sigh, remember those goodtimes when it always rain in Sepang.
Maybe we need a pertition.
Juke, will u be there today?
2001 IIRC it was round 2, and it poured.... so much that Verstappen was running 2nd in the Arrows for a while, and Mazzacane was up there too!
More of that please!
Jukebox 19 Mar 2006, 16:22 Juke, please don't *rain* on the parade! ;) :bmood:

ralf fan 19 Mar 2006, 17:35 it really is all martyn's fault......
it seems whenever he predicts a wet race.....we have a dry one
Knowlesy 19 Mar 2006, 20:07 Well martyn you've screwed it up again. ;)
I now demand you stop these threads so we at least have a fighting chance of a bit of drizzle.
You'd make Spa dry. :p
In fairness, there were a few, very few, spots...!
