Lotus 44's; there were only 3 off and all started life with Ron Harris Team Lotus.
Chassis Numbers were obviously 44-F-1/-2/-3

Chassis Numbers were obviously 44-F-1/-2/-3 KDW 21 Jul 2003, 13:09 Thanks Bryan, The truth is it's probably best to do 27, 32, 35, 44, and 48 then I'll have the full set !! Bryan Miller 21 Jul 2003, 13:21 Kevin. You are probably correct, a lot of them will all be mixed up, people calling out 27's as 32's etc. 3 x 27 came over here, and only 1 x 32, as opposed to the 32B. I have copies of the Lotus ch. list for the 27's and also most of the 27 sales cards giving ex. factory specification etc. and dates they left the works. macca 21 Jul 2003, 16:46 I'd love to see the final chassis history details. Do any of the 44's survive, they were the prettiest of all IMHO? Paul Mackness Chris Townsend 21 Jul 2003, 22:51 Here's a little more, non F1R information [From contemporary journals] Lotus 44s 1973 M Dee has 44-F-1 for sale from an address in Surrey. Presume this is Miki Dee who later ran a F.ford race hire outfit Peter Darr has a 44 for FB races in November 68 in the US KDW 22 Jul 2003, 09:32 Paul, I was recently told of a Lotus 44 in S France fitted with F2 BRM still in RH-TL colours. I was asked casually what I thought it was worth, sight unseen. But have not heard anything since. Kevin ROBSL 4 Aug 2003, 00:39 Cedric Selcer also has a 44 with FI SCA recently sold I believe to Japan? ROBSL Michael Oliver 4 Sep 2003, 14:12 Originally posted by KDW Thanks guys, I am also interested if any more cars survive now. We still seem to only know my car + Paul Matty+ John Dimmer. Thats just 3. There must be more than that. I know of one other 35 in the UK but not sure of chassis number - can make enquiries. Have a feeling same person also owns a 44 but could be mistaken on that one... Michael Oliver IANHEB 12 Sep 2003, 14:46 Unfortunately, none of the 27/32/35/44/48 series monocques ever came here. I might be able to identify with the help of some photos. Regards Ian macca 21 Apr 2004, 12:17 In the Lotus Book, the 44 is listed as having 5.5 x 13/9 x 13 tyres on 13 x 7/13 x 10 rims. Paul KDW 19 May 2004, 11:41 Autosport Oct 22nd 1970 "the ex R Harris Lotus 44 raced by J Clark is being fitted with a Lotus TC and raced in F LIbre 1971 events by Roy Pickton, sponsors R & H Motors of SW London" Any info on this and what happened to the car ?? Kevin allenbrown 20 May 2007, 17:41 Edmonton Formula B 1970 - organiser's entry list handout (so more up to date than the one printed in the programme) "Deny" Erickson (Spokane, WA) is entered as #92 by Repco NW in a Lotus 44. This would be Robert "Denny" Erickson (or Ericson) who also a Lola T140 at a couple of Formula A races in 1970. The Lotus 44 was advertised by them in October 1970. Allen |
