Greg Moore RIP

Greg Moore would have been 25 today. RIP my friend.

Half my age and he's gone. I can hardly believe it. :(

He was a great guy . Always had time for the fans. It will be a long time before anyone touches the racing community the way Greg did. Thanks for the memories

I think it will hit me with a thud when he wont be there on the Gold Coast. Im still finding it hard to pick a new hero out of the current lot.

We still miss ya :)

I'll second that

I keep expecting to see #99 on the track.
I can't pick a new hero...no one can replace Greg.

I find myself thinking ... when I see that blue and white car on the track ... that's Greg Moore. And then I remember, he's gone. He was my favourite driver in the CART series. I will always remember him.

To echo your sentiments, Liz, I had a similar reaction recently on what would have been Senna's 40th.

Good men gone too soon.

He was a great driver.

It was his race engineer, Steve Challis using Greg Moore's old car setup that helped Paul Tracy win the Miami race.

I still remember his beautiful blue and white car circling the Molson Indy track lap after lap after lap, for the fans and sponsors. After being 2 laps down most drivers would have put it away. Not Greg.

It seems as if they die before 35 or they survive. Can't think of anybody over that age that has died in recent times.

We get used to thinking death is optional. Then we lose someone young and vital and promising and there's another illusion gone. So many things he never got to do.....

Fortunately, the untimely demise of a pilot has become a relatively rare occurance. Therefore, the events become more prominent in our memories and more difficult to accept. I mourn the loss of Greg, Gonzalo, Jeff, and Scott Brayton in the most recent past (not to mention Donohue, Clark, Senna, and many many more). I mourn Greg perhaps most of all, because I "knew" him better than the others. Let us all thank the rule makers for making death on a racecourse such a rare occurance that when it happens, it affects us so profoundly. RIP Greg and all the others who have lost their lives living their passions and entertaing us in ours.
