Marshalls for Demo/recruiting in Blackpool 15th July

Hi,
TVR,The TVR Car Club and Blackpool Council are holding a big TVR event outside the metropole Hotel on Saturday 15th July with over 300 road cars expected.

As part of this we have been given almost a mile of the lower walk, from the metrople to glynn square to do some demonstration runs.

We've got cars fron the Tuscan Challenge, Sprinting, and some dealer demos' plus the speed 12 and hopefully one of the T400 Le Mans cars..

As we're promoting motorsport I'd like to also promote marshalls and marshalling, so Im inviting any marshalls who would like to come and help out, be interviewed and possibly man a recruiting stand if there is such an animal.

The actuall runs are two separate hours in the afternoon, with the rest of the day for displaying.

I'll commit to feeding and watering plus we should be able to get some factory tours on sunday if anyone who helps out would like them.


We can run the event with marshalls from the TVRCC as its non competitive, but it would look much better if we had some of the orange army:rofl: doing things properly, and you never know It might bring in a few more recruits.


I know its late in the day and you may all be committed, but I thought I would open the floor to any suggestions

I only live just down the road, so i'm tempted but do we have anymore details? Times, who to speak to to volunteer etc?

UPDATE: i've had some details from Graham - anyone wanting to help out, turn up at the Event Control for 11am for a briefing and walk of the track. Jobs and things will be decided from there.

00+ TVR cars (to be parked in Princess Promenade and Middle Walk) and 500+ members are booked to attend the Back Home event, so it’s a good opportunity for sponsor exposure!

Demonstration drives will take place along the Lower Walk Promenade, on North Shore, just above North Pier.

Members and public will be viewing the runs from Middle Walk.

MSA and TVRCC marshals will be in place to ensure safe running of event.

Participation is open to all competitors in the Dunlop Tuscan Challenge Series, and the
TVRCC Sprint Championship – to demonstrate your cars to the members and public.

An area has been set aside for display and preparation of the race cars, just North of the Metropole hotel on Princess Promenade. A separate parking area is allocated for support vehicles, trailers etc.

Timings: Arrival from 09:30 Saturday morning; Drivers sign-on and briefing 11:30
Runs begin 13:30; Last run 16:00 (timings dependent on tide & weather).

Please enter the site from the South through the marked entrances just North of the Metropole hotel (TVRCC members will be entering their parking area South of the hotel).

Suggested route in is to exit the M55 at Junction 4, and follow the A583 towards the Promenade, turning left onto the A5073 and following signs to South Shore until you reach the promenade, before turning right and head North (sea on your left!) along the promenade (A584), until you pass the Tower on your right and North Pier on your left. Entry for the race cars is just North of the Metropole Hotel.
