James Allen said it was £35 - very reasonable - they must be struggling to fill those empty seats.

I think £35 is as much to do with the going rate for similar events in the US as it is to do with empty seats. Although these are not unrelated.

Relative to other events, I am sure that the GP is expensive.

The most expensive tickets are $150, the best seats are $105, and the GA tickets are the cheap ones James Allen was probably talking about.

Not only is Indy one of the cheapest races on the calendar to attend, it also has the highest attendance.

Relative to other events at Indy it isn't that expensive - the tickets are the same price range at the Indy 500, and slightly cheaper for the Brickyard 400.

Trouble is, Barcelona now pulls in the biggest crowd, if i'm not mistaken, 120,000 or so, those seats along the start/finish straight proberbly hold 200,000. The crowd was proberbly relative to any other crowd on the calendar, just made to look like a small because of the size of the place.

There were at least 120000 people there last weekend, and having been there both this and last year, this year was busier.

It's important to understand that they don't sell tickets for lots of the stands - half of the oval track isn't used, so they don't open those stands, and along the inside of the pitlane they don't open most of those seats either because you see bugger all.

The Indy race has always been the cheapest GP on the calendar and the grandstand seats are probably the best value.

You could put 150,000 people in there and it would still look empty as Indy is just a mammoth facility.

That is right they make the tickets affordable for the race fans rather than ripping them off...quite good don't you think? Fomula1 should be delighted.;)

jonboy is right. $105 for the grandstand at the first turn.

Friday and Saturday $25 total for both days. You can sit in any grandstand you want. It really allows you to explore the track.

Parking $20 at the track We paid $10 to park on someone's lawn.

Good value in my view. While the hotels raise their rates they are still reasonable.

I hope I will be able to go back next year. I

And although F1 should be delighted, in his latest quote in AutoWeek, Bernie pretty much said that F1 didn't need a USGP, that he wouldn't lower his financial demands on a renewed contract, and that the USGP as a race has just been a source of aggravation.

Ok, flame away if you must, And if that quote was taken out of context, feel free to elaborate if any of you know more about it.
