While watching an interview with Eddie Cheever a few days ago, I found it interesting that he had no clue about how much downforce a Winston Cup car produces (roughly 900 to 1,200 pounds as opposed to Cheever's guess of 200 pounds). And Eddie, NASCAR is the sanctioning body not the category.
From what I have observed of Eddie Cheever, if he remembers his name, where he is, and where he parked his car, that is about his limit.
Eddie Cheever is usually opening his mouth about something right now. Of all the interesting characters involved in the IRL, the press have to seek him out so that they can get his annual ignorant statement. Why would anyone ask Cheever how much downforce a WC car has? He probably doesn't know how much his car has. I keep waiting for him to make his annual remark about how the CART drivers aren't good enough or don't have the balls to come and compete at Indy. Nevermind the fact that he was constantly crushed by the level of competition in CART when he raced in it. I personally hope he gets a good look at Montoya and Vasser's target cars as they lap him next week.
