Joyful Sound.eclectic 30 Sep 2006, 19:49 If you have broadband, try this! BRMV16 http://www.gordonbennettbooks.com/gbblog/V16BRM.mp3 Vitesse 1 Oct 2006, 01:04 That's what a real racing car sounds like! There's something magical about any blown 1500 with more than six cylinders, but with those 16 tiny pots the BRM is unique. I've heard a shorter version of that (recorded at Goodwood IIRC), but that's 7'34" of pure magic! Suze 1 Oct 2006, 01:45 Lovely! :) John Turner 1 Oct 2006, 10:50 Wonderful sound which gives the impression of coming from 'another place'; chokes me up when I hear it! You can also hear it on the CD that accompanied Nick Mason's book 'Into the Red'. dazbaz_99 1 Oct 2006, 11:08 Heard about but never seen this car! Does sound amazing, I want to see it for real now!! Imagine a whole field of V16's :rotate: AdamAshmore 1 Oct 2006, 11:56 I've heard a shorter version of that (recorded at Goodwood IIRC), but that's 7'34" of pure magic!Over seven minutes, it must be looped. ;) Imagine a whole field of V16's :rotate:It would start off loud, but get quite quiet fairly quickly ;) 1.5l, hmmm lets have 16 cylinders. Sounds like a great idea ;) Hamness 1 Oct 2006, 22:14 Seen it and heard it on quite a few occasions. Makes you wonder why so many people at present day events wear ear defenders. Imagine a load of these going past ! Pure music. grelley 1 Oct 2006, 23:10 We currently have screening on our local TV channel, the A-Z of Motorsports which feature the early 50s to the mid 60s motorsport and the BRM V16s appear on this along with the BRM 1.5 litre V8s etc. Also interesting to hear Tony Rudd talk about the BRM cars. Is this available on DVD I wonder. Regds Pistonbroke 5 Oct 2006, 17:14 Many thanks, Eclectic, for posting this. Made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, just as they did when the late Rodney Felton demo'd a V16 at Loton Park some years ago. 'Twas like a freeze-framed video - everyone within sight just stopped what they were doing to listen. |
