That looks like the early days of the CORR series. They look pretty much like today's Stock Truck Class.

Why was this moved to Drifting, this is on dirt...

It maybe on dirt, but it's definately not Rallying or Rallycross.
It was moved here because this is where we Discuss drifting, precision driving and all other areas of alternative motorsport!

Yes, I think this is the early years of SODA racing (short course off road driving) - the US version of rallycross using pick ups and off road buggies. For a while they used stock car tracks and dirt infields. Like rallycross it went through some problem years but was revived as CORR. There was even a computer game called SODA racing which I picked up when I was in the states - much better than Colin Mcrae rally or anything like that.

I must admit that is nearer to our rallycross than what the Americans now call rallycross. Their current form of rallycross is what we call rallysprints
