Great result for TEC Auto in Jarama

TEC Auto were very impressive, although I thought they would clean up having watched them test, although a couple of other teams seemed surprisingly off the ultimate pace or out of luck, like the Campos cars.

Bad luck for your car John , but in Jerez when I stay at the circuit West Tec will have more luck , the Ex-Racing Engineering Car is the best F300 in the Championship

Yes, having gone quickest in testing and then qualifying on a clear class pole it was somewhat disappointing to say the least to have an unheard of shaft failure when the pitlane opened for race 1.

Still starting 24th and last for race 2 and finishing 12th overall, having been held up for a long, long time by a Class A car, 2nd in class and setting 8th fastest overall race lap which I think was a new Class lap record was some consolation...

The Race 2 was a great demostration of Christian and West Tec potential , more luck for Jerez

How competitive is Spanish F3 now? I know it's on the up with the German Cup and has produced a fair few decent drivers in the last 2 or 3 years. But how would it compare to the British series now? I reckon someone like Marco Barba would be in the top 10 in Britain, but would he be in the top 3?

It's difficult to say, I think people like Barba and Cortes and a few more would be quick in the right car. They certainly get a lot of mileage due to the engine regs, and around technical tracks, so they are getting good experience.

Certainly guys like Soucek, Molina and Villa have not looked too shabby on a higher stage in recent times.

I'd add Garcia to the list as well :)

I did say a few more! Maybe Acosta, probably others too, some of whom currently have less experience.

In my opinion , the level is inferior than British F3 and Euroseries , but the level is good , this year Barba and Cortes are the pre-season dominators but Campos Grand Prix have to tell more

In last years the prize to winner was F1 Test with Toyota , but this year I don´t know what is the prize

how many guys in gp2 come from Brit F3 and how many come from Spanish F3? There will be an interesting battle this year...

Isa Ro is still looking for a seat for 2007? Offers.... But a deal in F Ren may be done!

Spanish F3 is tremendous value for money for a variety of reasons (most mentioned already) and make no mistake, the drivers level is as good as it gets. This is guanteed by various entities like the local sporing authorities RACC, RACE etc, the circuit of Catalunya, Valencia etc and various local councils like Valencia, Asturias etc which provide backing for the best Spanish talent to be in the series. Considering the boom motorsport is enjoying in Spain because of Alonso, the local talent emerges from a huge base of young karters and the law of odds means that the bigger the base, the better the talent. It is sometthing that helped Germany produce so much good talent after Schumacher (Vettel, Glock, Hulkenberg, Vietoris etc) and it will, or in my opinion, is already affecting Spain. Garcia, Soucek, Villa, Mollina are proof of that.

This weekend next round in Jerez :) :)

this is probably one of the most prolific f3 series in europe with tracks like catalunya and valencia and producing drivers like andy soucek. look out for garcia in 2007

Dont put al drivers from EF3 in the same bag. Soucek spended 4 years there and won it by luck, The barba Bothers are very quick but with bad racecraft, Villa is very young but has some talent, Garcia is an incredible talent with no money, and Cortes looks very very good. It might be the talent to replace Alonso, we will see. Is very early.

Take in account that he has no experience, but one year in F3, and he won races.

Thanks Adrian, but for a master cylinder I think we might well have seen Christian on the outright podium too!

P3 overall in (wet) testing with car nor driver ever having been there before wasn't too shabby either. Cortes and Barba in P1 and P2 are very quick drivers.

I think Tecauto is in another world , Cortes and Barba are the candidates for the title this year , and in Class B Polar and Christian should be the candidates

Juan Manuel is a very good driver, and experienced at this level. It should be exciting in Copa Espana Class B for sure.

In Class A, while there are some very good drivers, it's difficult to see beyond Maximo Cortes who is very, very quick everywhere and in all conditions.

Well done guys, the hard work is paying off. Don't forget to keep the websites updated too :)

Having been invited to meet the Racing Engineering team, tour their fabulous facilities, train there on occasion and join them at GP2 race weekends, our driver is looking likely to test in GP2 as a result of his Spanish F3 performances...

If he sticks with it. He seems to be testing all the formulas at the moment but never seems to race. Moving up the formulas without racing seems a little daft if you ask me? He should have stuck with FR2000 this year then done F3 next year but good luck to him and West Tec

Yes, and led TGP (as was) last week in a March 761. Did rather well here at Albacete in near 40 degreee heat today too.

Spanish F3 at Magny-Cours this weekend. Just noticed in free practice that the times the guys are setting at the front of the field would have netted them last place in F3 Euroseries qualifying at Magny-Cours by some margin. Didn't realise it would be that much of a difference.

quicker today. the engine spec is lower overall too, if a tenth of the cost.

According to GT Sport website , there is a change , Ebbesvik is the new Spanish F3 Cup Champion , because GT Sport put the standings without the last result corrected and official website

The first race was chaos , Cortes and Barba touch each other at turn 4 , Barba out and Cortes excluded because Race Director think He touch Barba first.

Later in the same lap , Montserrat fly after touch the rear of another car and lands on Llobel´s car. Montserrat has a broken bone and Llobel a commotion.

The race was stopped yesterday and finished today.
