How may miles or kilometers do you put on your car per year?

A few questions on mileage. How much do you actually drive? What is the anual mileage for your country or area? Do you drive more than the average?

I average about 19,000 miles per year which is above the US average of 15,000 per year. Mostly it is in and about the city of Tulsa, OK. but I make arund 5 trips per year over 300 miles one way during the year to visit family or other vacation purposes.

How much do you drive? Is your driving work related?

I managed just over 20,000 last year, it'll be higher this year. That is made up of a combination of spending weekends driving to racetracks and on weekdays, the 50 mile round trip I make to work every day.
I think the insurance companies reckon on 12,000 being the average mileage and always want to know if I'm certain that is what I actually cover in a year.

Neil C, I guess you don't come up to Canada often. I used to drive between 120 to 150000 miles covering the races. Now since retiring I'm down to about 8 to 10000 km. 4400 km just to go Moose hunting last year.

About 8,000 expected this year, less last year. I only travel 5 miles or so to work so it is just weekends. One week in four I am travelling (by air!), so that reduces it further.

Well.......not much. I manage to do some 12000 Km's every year which is more or less in the average. Mainly because I don't take the car on the road, it's just for urban use. However, my daily route is long. 40Km's if I'm just going from my house to the university.

I average about 50,000km each year, mostly work-related.

Judging by my fuel expenses, my mileage has taken a severe upturn in the last nine months...

Virtually all the driving I do is in some way work related, but I do arrange things to ensure my personal trips are tied in with work trips... or there's some form of work associated with my personal voyages.

I've done 30,000 km in one of my 504s since September... so about 55,000km for a full year is a reasonable expectation. I would have thought it would be more.. I used to do about 100,000km a year when I was a courier.

My wife drives our car most of all and i am surprised how many kms she can rack up. we also travel to sydney quite a bit and also got to dubbo and nyngan(800km round trip) afew times a year.We would average about 40000km per year.

There used to be a time when my car was my second home and I did between 100.000 and 120.000 km. a year, but now it only takes 14 km. to get to work and home again so it's about 5000 km. a year now.

To be honest I'm not certain on a figure for a whole year, but the new car we got last November does about 900km a month. So that's about 10,800km year, or 6750 miles.

Easy to work out, 12,500km on the odometer 12 months after I bought it.

I just figured out my spare car will do about 1800km retrieving the other one from Coonabarrabran, and then returning my brother to the Blue Mountains after he helps me do it...

Well Ray, im in bathurst so that would take a couple of hundred kays off the trip.

My Falcon is just over 11 months old and has 43,000km on the clock. I had my Commodore for 2 years and did 40,000 in the first year and 42,000 in the second.

The average in Australia is 20,000km or 12,000 miles per year.

The return trip to work is 70km a day. I also travel to Sydney and Canberra twice a year and I've been to Melbourne 3 times in the last 5 years.

Luckily for you there aren't as many speed cameras between Brisbane and your area as there are just a little further north...
