Northern Ireland's Jeremy McWilliams will team with Tetsuya Harada on the
RS500 Aprilia for the Y2K 500 Grand Prix season, giving the Italian team a
two-pronged assault with a pair of proven riders.
McWilliams will have a full factory 500 V-twin, and this moves shows Aprilia's
strong intentions in the top class. McWilliams raced in 500GP during the 1993
season, and last year he raced with a factory Aprilia 250 managed by Team
Optimum. His results and attitude were obviously impressive.
"McWilliams will have full technical support, the same machine
and the same evolutionary parts that we will supply to Harada,"
said Mr. Jan Vitteween, the Aprilia Racing Department leader. "Our interest is to have
two very competitive riders, and with Tetsuya and Jeremy, I'm sure to have an
aggressive and competitive pair."
