Roche first joined GM in 1927 and held numerous positions with the automaker, including Cadillac general manager for a period beginning in 1957, and the top GM position from 1967 to 1971. During his tenure, Roche was a precedent-setting executive who took on new levels of community leadership and corporate responsibility.
