Nah, apparently the polar regions are somehow "chemical sinks" (maybe because the temperature keeps the chemicals stable?) resulting in a lot of chemical pollution. They found an extremely high incidence of this chemical stored in the fat of these bears. They aren't sure if this connection is certain but it makes me think about putting children in flame-resistant pajamas or wearing a nomex balaclava.

...but as you wear white wouldn't it be easier just to get the polar bear to do the flagging?
