I think that is one of the compromises you get with the design of the A1GP car. Whilst the large rear wing was designed to give better slip streaming down the straights it unfortunately also creates more turbulance and less down force for the trailing driver around the twisty parts of the circuit.
It was always going to be difficult after Nico made the most of the clean side of the track to the first corner. But credit to Robbie for keeping up sustained pressure for the entire race and credit to Nico to not buckling under it.
