As for upgrading GT2's to GT1 spec, if it's that simple why not have a single GT class across all ACO series and the FIA GT World Championship, replacing GT2 altogether, leaving the European Championship to GT3.

By the way, has the ACO announced what it's doing with regards to GTs next year? Mr Ratel claims that they'll be running his formula (gods forbid) whereas whoever was representing Chevrolet on the podium (I was behind so couldn't see) said something along the lines of "we'll be back for the single GT class next year".
