Round 9 of 13 of the 1988 Dunlop RAC British Touring Car Championship held on Sunday 24th July 1988 over 20 laps of the 4.812km Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.
Conditions were fine and sunny, apart from a brief rain shower in the early laps. You've got to love English weather

I only have the results for this race, so I don't have the retirement data normally given in the race report.
The race saw a titanic, race-long battle between Soper and Rouse. The lead changed many times, even during the rain shower! Rouse appeared to have more power than the Eggenberger car, using it to his advantage several times on the run down Pilgrim's Drop. Rouse finally resolved the matter by putting the Kaliber Sierra through a Kaliber Sierra-sized gap down the straight to snatch the lead into Hawthorn's on the last lap. Great race, and great driving from two greats of British touring car racing!
Interestingly, the original broadcast didn't contain too much of their dice, whilst the review video focuses almost exclusively on it.
