Unfortunately I don't have an opinion because I was running up the stairs at the time and missed it! The one lap of the weekend that I did miss.
Fortec protested Vergne on behalf of Webb and the results are
here. If the Stewards were relying on video evidence that does tend to be fairly conclusive.
I don't blame Webb for being wound up about it. He was leading the race and was rudely punted off, but he wasn't to know what had been going on behind. When I was walking back through the tunnel he was running in the opposite direction, obviously with the adrenaline still pumping.
