None of this would matter if the ALMS offered up a grid similar to those seen before 2009, but with fewer local entries, and potentially a drop in overseas entries, I don't see Sebring being content with a total LMP grid of 8-10 cars.

What you have to realize that a large number of the attendance is made up of college kids partying, many who barely know there is a race going on. How many additional tickets do they need to cover a half million dollar sanction fee, plus the lost rights to have the race title sponsor, lost marketing rights.....
You are right though, Sebring management hasn't been happy with some of the recent grid sizes.
Overall, the series ownership would probably be better off (financially)to grow their series, and do without the WEC, though Sebring could take a bit of a hit.
