Hello folks,

I hope everyone's well. I haven't seen anyone from the marshalling community for ages, with all I've had going on.

Well, I've just been thinking of a few things I've heard marshals and officials talking about numerous times since I became involved with marshalling and I've had an idea... I don't want to give too much away, because I have a habit of doing that and having others steal my ideas, which has happened a few times in the past; but I will say that it's a solution to the problem of flagging night races, and that many people are of the opinion that flashing coloured lights at drivers doesn't communicate so well to the driver as waving a flag does...

What I need to know is how important to the community, as a whole, overcoming this problem is. I should probably speak to drivers about this too, but I'm not sure, should I?

If I'm to tell anyone about this idea, I need to be able to fully trust them not to go behind my back and create it, or have it created, themselves. This is my idea and I want to take the credit for it, naturally.

So, let's say I can solve this problem and it would likely cost less to implement around a circuit than those flashing lights would... Is anyone interested?

I know I'm being a bit cryptic, but, given my current funds and resources, I'm not really in a position to be much more. I'm just wondering if I might be onto a good thing or not and, if so, who it's best I should speak to in order to secure a potential trial of my idea.
