Yes - because history tells us that you will never score points if you qualify low down.

(Except Croft 2020, where Ingram started R1 in 26th place and scored 37pts.
Turkington got 16pts after qualifying 3rd and Sutton scored 24pts after qualifying 6th.
Compared to last season, Ingram is actually in a better position going into R1)
