There was a good battle up the front and a BMW won it...

What you forgot was the #92 car suffered a penalty for having a mechanic over the wall. So it lost it's lap advantage and still had the pace to hold off the Risi, Lizard and Corvette. Dirk Muller set fastest lap of the race doing this whilst The #90 car was cruising a lap up.

#45 Lizards gained a lap on a wave by at St Petes and Mid-Ohio last year - so it's not like it was only the BMWs that benefited from this rule.
