The mondeo does in excess of 50mpg on motorway journeys at a steady 70/80mph and does a commendable 38/40 round town which involves journeys of 5 or 6 miles each way..
The Santa Fe does an equally commendable 30mpg round town and while towing the caravan(25ft long and 1.5tons in weight) and solo on the motorway does around 42mpg at 60/70mph so all in all not too bad at all......
