The cars will use a 5.0-litre engine developed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) in the USA for Grand-Am endurance racing, sourced by Toyota New Zealand. The four-cam, four valve per cylinder engines are purpose-built competition units with a motorsport pedigree that includes the Daytona 24 Hour race.
