Any decent bookmaker will allow you to walk in and ask for the odds on any event. You might not like the odds. Motor racing is a good one to bet on because there is a chance you know more than the bookie. However that situation has become less favourable in recent years IMHO. They are getting smarter, although it is only really F1 and WRC that they cover, so a less mainstream part of the sport could still offer some good punts.
