None taken. I've been defending him because IMO his race performances this year have been better (especially in comparison to Bottas) than what has been written by many. I think I'd defend any driver that I don't dislike when they get misrepresented.
That said, while Maldonado is a good driver when he stays out of trouble, I think Sergio and Nico are considerably better and would have made better use of that Lotus seat, so I'm a bit disappointed and not exactly pleased.
