This is something that every marshal wants to do. So go for it.
When you get older and more worldly-wise then you will realise that the best way to see the GP is via Sky TV.
But while you are young and vigorous then do try to get to do it, whatever role you play. Some of my best experiences of marshalling were at the GP - not necessarily trackside! (BTW I did do night shifts around the campsites....)
It is an experience that can only happen to you if you wear the orange/black.
