It was a pity it only lasted 3 years.
It was rumoured it was headed to America in 1996, to tie-in with the new North American Touring Car Championship. Was also on the schedule for the World Cup to be run in Helsinki in 1998, but never happened, and the Bathurst 1000 in 1999 was also slated to be the World Cup, but once again it didn't come off.
Here's a question i've never found answered;
Is Roberto Ravaglia still considered the one and only World Touring Car Champion from 1987. Were Radisich and Biela classed as winning a different title, considering it was a one meeting 'Cup' rather than a full year Championship.
